Step-by-step Instructions from the above Video
When using the Presenter View in PowerPoint, instructors need to confirm they are recording the Slide Show and not the Presenter View.
- Launch your PowerPoint presentation in Presenter View mode. The Slide Show typically appears in the main screen while the Presenter View appears in the second screen.
- On the Panopto Recorder check the option to Capture PowerPoint and Capture Main Screen (see Fig. 1). The Capture PowerPoint option creates the table of contents. The Capture Main Screen option captures PowerPoint animations and annotations and also allows for recording of other apps such as web pages or excel spreadsheets.

- Click on the Main Screen tab and check the option to Enable screen capture preview (see Fig. 2).Figure 2: Main Screen tab and Enable screen capture preview option.
- Verify that the PowerPoint Slide Show is appearing in the preview. If the Slide Show is appearing, continue to step 5. Otherwise, uncheck the Capture Main Screen option and check the Capture Second Screen option. Iterate through the screens until you find the Slide Show.
- Confirm that only the screen displaying the Slide Show is checked.
- Select your audio source from the Audio dropdown menu (see Fig. 3).

- After selecting your audio, test your audio by talking in a normal voice to test the volume. You should see a few green bars appear as you talk (see Fig. 4). If you don't see any or see the red and yellow bars highlighted, adjust the volume by using the slider.

- Panopto has no toolbar that is visible while recording. After you have finished with your PowerPoint presentation, bring up the Panopto Recorder, select stop and upload.
